Mr.Verma is going on Rail Journey to Bombay for a holiday for Rail Journey. The three of them arrive at the Delhi railway station. They get train timetables for trains to Bombay.
Mr.Verma Coolie, coolie. Please pick up our luggage for train to Bombay, this suitcase and bag.

Ticket counters for train booking

Vikram: Papa what are those counters?
Mr.Verma: Those are ticket counters for train booking. You can get train booking to various destinations for rail journey.
Vikram: Are the train tickets for all railway trains sold at the same train tickets counters?
Mr.Verma: No. There are different ticket counters for train tickets to be Sold for different trains. There is a special train tickets counter for cheap train tickets. Now you can book train tickets online also
Vikram: I’ll, find that out train timetables and train route from the railway enquiries counter.
The Verma family followed by the coolie arrives at railway platform No 3.
Mr.Verma: We are a bit early. The railway train to Bombay has not yet drawn up at the railway platform..

Mrs.Verma: Do we have railway reservation, dear?
Mr.Verma: No dear.I checked up the railway status. But no seats were available. I visited the railway website  for  online railway booking before leaving the house.  Moreover you know that for day time travel there is no reservation of seats.
Mrs.Verma: I do hope that the railway train is not too over crowded.
Vikram: Oh look papa! There is a railway engine going along all by itself! Who are the men in side the railway engine?
Mr.Verma: There is an engine driver and there is a stoker. The Stoker is the man who keeps feeding the railway engine with coal.
Vikram: Look, look! That train is running so fast! What is that wire on top of the train?

Mr.Verma: That is an electric train son. Look there. The railway signal for our train to come into the station has come down. Stand back from the edge of the platform Vikram.
The train draws up. There is a rush to get into the train.

Mr.Verma: Don’t hurry. Coolie, take our luggage to the first class compartmentof Railway Train please. I think it is the fifth carriage from the railway engine.Vikram takes some train photos.
The Verma family settles down in their compartment of the railway train ..
Vikram: Papa are the engine driver and his helper the only people to run thetrain?
Mr.Verma: No. Vikram. There are a number of other railway officials on eachtrain. There is a train guard who looks after the safety of the passengers. Then, there is a train conductor who has a train chart and can tell you as to which compartment you can sit in. There are also ticket checker, who asks to see the tickets of all 
the passengers. There is an train attendant with each of the carriages.

Mrs.Verma: Here we go. I hope the train isn’t going to be late according to theRailway  timetable. I’ve brought some brunch. As soon as we get out of Delhi and its suburbs, we’ll have a bite. But the food will also be served in the train.
Vikram: Mamma, where is our big Bag?
Mrs.Verma: Very big and heavy items are not allowed to be kept in thecompartment. So, our trunk has been stored in the luggage van. That is actually Aunt Veena’s Bag which we are taking for her to Bombay.



Vikram: what’s happened? Mamma papa! It has become as dark as night. Oh, now it is day again. What was that, papa?

Mr.Verma: We just passed through a tunnel, son.
Vikram: I want to sit at the window seat and watch all the farm houses go by. What fun this is and what pretty sights are to be seen. I want to make a train video.
Mrs.Verma: Do you want something to eat Vikram?
Vikram: Yes mamma. I’ll also eat my chocolate now.
